For the cover of the Westernizer this year, I wanted to make something fairly unique and away from the normal “photo of Western” on the cover that tends to happen last-minute. I wanted to also draw as much of the cover that I could. I ended up taking pictures of “Western things” around campus, drawing them out on my fancy light-table (i.e. a window) and bringing them into Illustrator. I wanted it to look fun too, so things that people would recognize were a must. squirrels, geese, UC tower, the tree, UGG boots, hockey sticks… to name a few.
