The QCA Design department wanted to change it’s image as the curriculum is going through significant change. Mostly providing practical professional design skills, the program is strongly shifting towards providing an education that profoundly challenges students to reconsider design as an institution, practice, culture and industry. The new direction is called “Design Futures.” By bringing ideas from the present into the past, this asks viewers to have a “what if” moment. By thinking of how the world would be drastically changed if the ideas of today were developed in the past, we can picture how far ahead we would be in the present and positive future.
